Selecting students for the Superintendent's Honor Roll is easy when we have students like this! On November 18th, two GHS students were presented to the GISD School Board for their outstanding efforts as a Gunter Tiger. We are happy to announce Presley Grant and Madison Smith as our Fall Honorees for the Superintendent's Honor Roll.
Prezley Grant is involved in Lady Tiger Basketball, Academic UIL, and is the sophomore student body representative for Gunter’s student council. In her free time she likes to go shopping with her mom, watch movies with her dad, and hang out with her friends. When teachers describe Prezley, they use words like model student, self-motivated, attentive to details and contributes to a positive culture in the classroom. We see how other students rely on her leadership abilities, and for that reason, she was chosen to be honored before our board.
Madison Smith, GHS senior, has played for the Lady Tiger Volleyball team for 3 years. As a teammate, she helped the team earn a State Championship and State Runner-up trophy. Off the court, Madison serves as the HOSA president and NHS parliamentarian. Teachers describe Madison as hard working, caring and thoughtful. She leads by example and shows respect to everyone she comes in contact with. All of these accolades were made possible because Madison chooses to make good choices in her life that will take her to an amazing future. With that in mind, we felt she was very deserving of this prestigious award!
