EARLY RELEASE NOTIFICATION
A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to the Gunter Tiger Football Team for earning a third consecutive trip to the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!
Our game is scheduled for Thursday, December 14th at AT&T Stadium in Arlington at 7:00 PM. Traffic in that direction is often unpredictable and very much congested, so in order to give everyone enough time to collect their children, pack up the car, and travel safely to the game, Gunter ISD will release students early at 12:00 PM - Noon.
Thank you for your understanding and flexibility. Our students are successful in so many things, and it is because of our great community of parents and teachers who support them. We do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause someone.
Again, congratulations to the coaches and players on a job well done! We hope to see you there!
GO TIGERS!

Tomorrow is the State Semi-Final Football Championship, and we couldn't be more excited! With the district releasing students early (12:00 Noon) and the send-off happening at 11:30 AM, we are asking for your cooperation to make the events run smoothly.
- We have chartered buses arriving to pick up our students and they will need a clear path in the north parking lot from 289 to the field house. With that in mind, we must ask that parents NOT park in the north parking lot of the high school to pick up students. If you are coming for the send off, please park in the front student parking lot and walk over to the north lot to cheer or line 289 to cheer them on as they go down the road.
- The stadium will open the gates at 4:00 PM which will give you plenty of time to get into the game, grab a bite to eat at the concessions and get situated and ready to cheer on the Tigers.
Safe Travels!

Make plans to join us on Thursday, December 7th from 6-7 PM for some festive family time during this holiday season. Come enjoy a cookie and a cup of hot chocolate while you cast your vote for the best-decorated gingerbread house at GES. Then snuggle in throughout the hallways to listen to stories read by our very own Gunter Elementary teachers.

The Littlest Reindeer will be performed by our 1st graders on December 11th at 6:00 PM in the GES cafeteria. They've worked hard and are ready to make you smile! We hope to see you there 🙂

Important Message to GES Parents of Bus Riders on Route 5:
We have made a few changes to the AFTERNOON bus route #5 in the Bridges. If your child rides this bus, please be aware that beginning TODAY - DECEMBER 4th, the bus will arrive at each stop approximately 5-6 minutes earlier. Please be outside at your regular stop 5-6 minutes EARLIER than you normally are to pick up your child. This is a permanent change, so please adjust your schedule accordingly. Thank you!

There are two very important changes listed in this post regarding December 8th and December 20th. Please be sure to read both.
First off, a big congratulations to our Tiger Football Team on their Regional Championship!
Our next game will be played on Friday, December 8th at Abilene Christian University beginning at 6:00 PM. In order to give teachers, parents, staff members, bus drivers, etc ample time to make the trip and support our players and coaches, we will have a noon dismissal that day. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause you or your family. These decisions take into account a staffing shortage and an extremely low attendance rate due to parents/teachers/families leaving early enough to support their kids.
Also, Wednesday, December 20th will be changed to a noon dismissal as well due to a major electrical shutdown at the High School and Middle School for construction purposes. This additional time is crucial for the electricians and our technology department to complete this project before the end of the Christmas break. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. However, it is critical that this project be completed before school begins again on January 9th.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
It’s a great day to be a Tiger!

Important message from the Transportation Department: One of our route buses was delayed this afternoon due to a belt breaking. We promptly had another bus dispatched and delivered all students home safely. That bus is still on the side of the road, but please know that everyone who was on the bus is safe at home. Instead of paying a tow truck, we have opted to replace the belt onsite, and that will be done tomorrow. Thank you for your patience this afternoon.

Tiger Family,
It's always important to stay informed of what is happening in our state with regards to education. This week, the Texas House will consider House Bill 1 which includes a voucher system with universal eligibility for students. According to the Legislative Budget Board, the voucher program will cost $2 billion in the second year of the program and grow each year. This creates a significant new financial commitment for the state while public schools remain underfunded by more than $14 billion.

No School - Thursday, November 16th
Full Day of School - Friday, November 17th
Thanksgiving Break November 20-24

World Kindness Day - November 13th
We think you should be kind every day! But, if you've never performed an anonymous "Act of Kindness," today is a great day to do that! Do something nice for someone and don't tell a soul. Your well-being will be blessed a thousand times over!

Don't forget that Tuesday, November 14th is yearbook photo day for the elementary students. Start practicing those smiles! Here is the link to pre-order your photos: https://www.garnerstudio.net/school-photos/gunter/gunter-elementary-yearbook-portraits-scheduled-for-nov-14/

Good afternoon Tiger Nation,
Our Lady Tiger volleyball team has just earned their 4th consecutive trip to the State Volleyball Tournament!
Our semi-final game will be on Thursday, November 16th at either 11:00 or 1:00. In order to give our entire community a chance to show up and show out in support of our Lady Tigers, we will not have school Thursday, November 16th.
It’s a great day to be a Tiger. See you in Garland!
Scott Martindale, Superintendent

Tiger Family,
Thank you for your patience with us today as we dealt with the water outage. The water break has been repaired and Gunter ISD will be back in session at regular time tomorrow. Buses will run on their normal schedule as well.
See you tomorrow!

Important Message from GISD Transportation (11/8): Bus routes will run the same as they do each day, except earlier due to the city wide water outage. Parents unable to get home at the time your children are to be let out, call the transportation office at 903-696-1500.

Important Notice (November 8th): Due to the city-wide water outage, Gunter ISD will be releasing our students early. High School/Middle School students will be released at 12:30 PM and Elementary students will be released at 1:00 PM. All dismissal procedures will be the same; just earlier.
Thank you for your patience as we navigate these unforeseen circumstances.

Don't forget to set your clocks back tonight before you go to sleep!

Just a little Halloween fun at our district. We had so many great costumes... this is just a sample!
Be safe tonight if you are trick or treating. Wear bright colors, carry a flashlight, be careful crossing streets, and stay with your group.

Halloween is on Tuesday, October 31st and our campuses have decided to let the students have some fun and dress up in costume. With fun, comes responsibility. The students will still be involved in their learning activities in class, so please keep the following in mind when choosing a costume to wear.
- All costumes must be in dress code (See the student handbook for our policies)
- Costumes may not include weapons of any kind
- Costumes should allow the student to sit easily in their desk
- We must be able to see the student's face - no masks!
- You might consider sending a change of clothes just in case the costume becomes uncomfortable.
- Bring appropriate shoes for recess, PE and/or athletics

Something fun for Friday! We would love your input on the color scheme for our NEW elementary school's playground equipment. Click here to join in on the fun and take our survey :) https://forms.gle/VdXEDMQUZuRCuCAN7
