We are so excited to announce Ms. Kaylee Brue as our new Middle School Band Director! Don’t worry, Mr. Nguyen didn’t leave. He will be the High School Director!
Ms. Kaylee Brue is entering her first year of directing at Gunter ISD. Originally from Cache, Oklahoma, Ms. Brue graduated Cum Laude from the University of North Texas with her degrees in Music Education and Trumpet Performance.
While at UNT, Ms. Brue studied trumpet under Dr. Raquel Samayoa and was a member of the UNT Brass Band, under the direction of David Childs. She served as a trumpet section leader in the UNT Green Brigade and taught visual technique at Colleyville Heritage High School and Coppell High School, as well as ran a private lesson studio of trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba, and clarinet students at New Song School of the Arts. Ms. Brue also performed in The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps and The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps.
Ms. Brue enjoys gardening, cooking new recipes, climbing mountains, and playing board games with her friends. She is excited to start her professional teaching career!
